RYA Senior Instructor (SI)
This course marks the transition from managing your own boat to that of being a 'fleet manager'.
The Senior Instructor course concentrates primarily with on-the-water issues and is practically orientated.
The course includes;
-
Supervising instructors under your control
-
Practical teaching afloat
-
Fleet management
-
Running shore-based sessions
-
Customer liaison
-
Group discussions
All under the guidance of experienced RYA dinghy coach-assessors.
Assessment is done throughout the duration of the course and is based on your ability to plan, organise and run practical sessions, construct course programmes, manage instructors under your supervision and on your input to shore-based sessions.
To ensure you get the most out of this course, it's taught in a relaxed atmosphere with a combination of enthusiastic and effective teaching. You'll find all the equipment suitable and up-to-date, with easy access to the water to run your sessions.
Please note; during the four days there is quite a considerable amount of material that needs to be covered so some evening work will be required.
